GPU benchmarks for Witcher 3 A GTX 1660 Ti is what you might need to begin to run the game at 1080p on Ultra while still maintaining 60 FPS. A GTX 1660 can maintain 60 FPS on Medium, while the RX 570 can keep it at 40-55 FPS. For the best looking Witcher 3, an RTX 2060 is needed for 1440p on Ultra. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has just been released, and it is certainly one incredible game, featuring and an engrossing and captivating story, interesting characters, a brilliant soundtrack and some. Witcher 3 Ultra Low is a mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, created by Hasukiii. Ultra low graphics mod witcher 3? Northern Realms. Ultra low graphics mod witcher 3? I was just wondering, since there's an ultra low mod, would I be able to run the game with at least 30 fps? I've got an i3 3210, and radeon 260x, with 8gb of ram. I see in the 'disallowed submissions' that I should.
Ultra Low Witcher 3 Gameplay
I recently bought Witcher 3’s expansion pack “Hearts of Stone” after which I immediately reinstalled the base game. I tinkered with the graphics and then it dawned to me – I can make an optimization guide for this game as my first real article. I’m running a fairly low end PC but at least it gets the job done. I don’t expect it to run a game like Witcher 3 on max 60 fps because it really can’t. Here’s my specs:
Witcher 3 Best Armor
- Core i3 3240 @ 3.4GHz cpu
- Sapphire R7 260x 2GB gpu
- 8GB GSKILLS ripjaws @ 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 ram
- 500GB Seagate Barracuda HDD
- MSI B75MA-E33 motherboard
- AOC E1660S 1366×768 vga monitor
- Windows 10 x64
As you can see, my rig is a weak sauce box. I want to buy new parts but money is kind of tight and PC upgrades isn’t my top priority right now which is why I’ll just have to get the best out of it for now. First off, let me tell you that 60fps is the BEST way play your games and not30fps. Anything higher than 60+fps is even better if your PC can do it without sacrificing graphical fidelity. Never let anyone tell you that 30 fps is just as good as 60 fps because it isn’t. However, if you couldn’t attain 60fps even when dropping the settings down to a medium~low combo, then you’ll have to make compromises when it comes to frame rate. To many, this is one compromise they aren’t willing to do. But I am not one of them and I just straight up lock the FPS down to 30 (sometimes at 31) and turn as many settings up as I can (that my gpu can handle without dropping down 30fps) and turn vsync on. Its never going to be as good as playing at 60fps but I’ll just have to live with it. As inferior as 30fps is – at the very least it is still playable. And that is why I lock it to 30fps – because stuttering and screen tearing is hell of a lot worse. I’ll take constant 30fps w/ vsync over a 35~50fps w/out vsync stutterfest. Being able to crank the graphics settings up is just a mere bonus. But I’m already going off topic, onward to the guide then.
-Disclaimer- This guide assumes that you’ll be running a low end gpu (ex. R7 260x/360, GTX 750ti) to play The Witcher 3 which has no hopes of running it at constant 60fps even on low settings (Hello Novigrad). I’m also playing on a 1366×768 monitor.
My Personal Settings
FPS Limit – 31 via Afterburner (I used Afterburner because the in-game fps limiter sucks and the AMD driver frame limiter doesn’t work in borderless windowed mode)
In game Vsync – OFF (Use borderless windowed instead for triple buffered vsync)
NVIDIA HAIRWORKS – OFF (Turn off this crap if you want to play the game instead of a slideshow)
Ambient Occlusion – NVIDIA HBAO+ (Thankfully this doesn’t affect the fps as much as hairworks and it only cost a few frames more compared to SSAO)
In game Anti Aliasing – ON (You can use SMAA if you want via reshade but be sure to turn in game AA off)
Bloom – ON (You don’t want to turn this off because it only cost 1-2fps at most and it makes a ton of difference in terms of looks)
Blur/Motion Blur – your preference (I leave it on because it makes 30fps more tolerable for me at least when panning the camera and adds a nifty blur effect when you cast your signs)
Chromatic Aberration – again your call (No discernible fps hit if left on)
Depth of Field – ON (You’d definitely want this on if you don’t want to see the low res textures and aliasing from a distant.)
Detail Level – Ultra (This one controls the blood splatters from the guts of yer enemies. Tried it at all settings when I had vsync off and frame limit at 60 with only 1-2 fps penalty during fights on ultra vs low.)
Foliage Visibility Range – High (Trying on ultra results in horrid stutters in vast areas. High seems to be the sweet spot for 31fps lock to avoid dips without sacrificing too much draw distance. Set it to medium if it dips on your machine below 30fps. Again, I’m playing at 1366×768 and I locked the fps on 31.)
Grass Density – Ultra (Again tried it at all settings when I had vsync off and frame limit at 60 – lo and behold – 2fps hit on ultra vs low)

Light Shafts – On (Unlike Far Cry 4 god rays or Fallout 4 god rays, Witcher 3’s god ray doesn’t even tickle my frame rate yet still gives me that oh-so-sweet godly rays)
Number of Background Characters – Ultra (Setting this to Low doesn’t affect the number of characters shown on screen nor does it improve your fps so you can just set it to low for peace of mind or if you’re like me just set it on ultra. I just like looking at the graphics option and seeing almost everything on Ultra.)
Ultra Low Witcher 3 Weapons
Shadow Quality – High (When I set this on ultra, my fps dips below 30 on swampy areas like the Crookback Bog. The problem is more pronounced when I enforce the 31fps lock + vsync where it typically dips at 26~28fps. You can even try setting this to medium if you want an extra wiggling room from dips below 30. It looks almost the same on every other setting including ultra… in my eyes at least.)
Sharpen – Low (I set this to low to offset the blurring made by the anti aliasing. High is a little too aggressive for my taste.)
Terrain Quality – Whatever (When will CDPR ever fix this one? Set it to Ultra just for the hell of it because it is currently not working. even after a year of release.)
Texture Quality – Ultra (Vram usage never exceeds 1.5GB on my card according to afterburner which is why I just leave it at that. Please do remember that I am playing on 1366×768 resolution though.)
Witcher 3 Ultra Low Mod Download
Vignette – Your call chief (No performance impact. Darkens the Corners of the screen like when you squint your eye just a little.)
The Witcher 3 Game Review
Water Quality – Ultra (Very tricky, setting this to high or ultra is pretty significant on my 260x. Probably due to high tessellation factors of 32x and 64x respectively with no graphical difference vs medium except that you and/or your boat will move as waves hit you. Why set it on high/ultra you asked? Because you can on an AMD card. Just set your driver tessellation to x8 and you can enjoy that splashing wave rocking your boat without the bull shit penalty of x64 tessellation because apparently those waves aren’t tied to tessellation factors but by the setting itself. I am baffled as to why CDPR decided to do this if even x8 or x4 can simulate waves as good as x32 or x64.
There you have it folks. The Witcher 3 for those who lacks the necessary horse power to run it at 60fps. Hope you like it. Leave a comment. I’ll be sure to read it and answer any questions as best as I could. After I finish Witcher 3 all over again…
